Welcome to Home Style Saturday! Wow, we finally hit 500. According to my calculations, HSS has been a part of StoneGable and, hopefully, your life for over nine and a half years. Every week, we have searched the best of the best of our archives, polished them up and shared them with you.
And Home Style Saturday continues to be one of my most-read posts week after week. This series started as an idea of five blogging friends, Ann from On Sutton Place, Lori from Designthusiasm, Rhoda from Southern Hospitality, Janet from Shabbyfufu, and me. All of us had hundreds, if not thousands, of archived posts that were still helpful and relevant, and we thought our readers would still enjoy them. So, Lori came up with the name, and Home Style Saturday was born. The faces have changed a bit, and new blogs have replaced those who retired from HSS to persue new interests, but the heart of this series has stayed the same. Home Style Saturday is your weekend decorating and lifestyle magazine.

Love your blog! I especially love the decorating ideas! I loved your Christmas mantel so much I made mine thicker and embellished it so that it was a statement piece in our home! Then this spring I couldn’t take it down so I took the pinecones out and replaced them with white magnolia flowers! With the white lights and white berries it’s gorgeous in the evenings! So thanks for all the work you do on your blog I totally enjoy it !!!

I designed my new kitchen when we added on to our cottage. After reading your wonderful article on kitchen organization, I’m happy to report that I did it right! My island in the middle of my U shaped kitchen is my working space, but I do have a niche on the opposite side for baking. I have everything I need there, including a cupboard with a pop-up shelf that houses my Kitchen Aid mixer.. Glass cupboards are filled with my blue and white collection, and shelves above my plate rack are home to family heirlooms and some of my favorites.

I can’t believe it, I was just fussing about our beige colored walls throughout our home.
I chose the beige color because I simply couldn’t decide on a color scheme at the time. I was working 12-hour shifts when our home was being built, and I just couldn’t get there.

I am so for the minimal, clean and simple decor that really enhances the entryways, and rooms of the house. Especially with a paint that isn’t too hard to not work with to many design pieces that can be changed up and still match. I love the floral ideas and just that excellent option for small entry way.
