1. FALL TO CHRISTMAS: As the seasons begin to change, I want you to know that you don’t have to pack away your fall decor to make your home feel festive for Christmas. You’ll find 5 simple ways to transition your fall decor to Christmas in this post, by using what you already have and making a few small changes as the seasons shift.
2. COZY TIP OF THE WEEK: I’ve noticed the days are getting noticeably shorter around here, and it’s a good reminder to get outside and soak up as much daylight as we can while it’s still here. Whether it’s taking a walk, enjoying a cup of coffee on the porch, or simply sitting outside for a few minutes, a little fresh air and sunshine are wonderful for your mood.
3. AMAZON FINDS: Shop cozy finds I’m loving on Amazon.
4. LITTLE THINGS I’M LOVING:
- We’ve had some cooler temps so I added these flannel sheets to our bed. You can see them in our bedroom here.
- I love how easily these pillow covers can transition from fall to Christmas. See photo above.
- A beautiful covered stoneware baking dish for the holidays.
- Who said a shower curtain is just for the shower? Transforming this one into a few different things is next on my DIY to-do list.
- Cozy Christmas wreath with a charming striped bow. There’s also a matching mini wreath, garland, swag, and stem.
- These ornaments look like something you’d find at Pottery Barn.
- Etched glass is on trend this holiday, but these etched glass Christmas houses will never go out of style.
- If you’re a collector of Santa mugs (or not), I love the idea of using this ceramic Santa as a utensil holder for the holidays.
5. FROM MY KITCHEN TO YOURS: I’m not sure there is anything more comforting than a warm bowl of tomato soup on a chilly fall day. My homemade version of Campbell’s tomato soup is easy to make and full of flavor. You’ll never want to open a can of tomato soup again!
6. UPDATING MY WARDROBE:
- There are so many cozy details on this sweater.
- I bought this long line coat last year and I can’t tell you how cozy it was to wear and how many compliments I received.
- Obsessed with the sleeves on this sweater and the lace-inset detail.
- See me wearing this henley.
- When you just want to be cute, comfy, and cozy. There’s matching pants too!
- I don’t know if I’ve ever met a vest I didn’t like, including this sweater one.
- Love the color and style of these ankle boots.
- A gorgeous pleated maxi dress great for work, an event, or church.
7. MAKE THIS WITH ME: I’m seeing dried orange Christmas decorations popping up everywhere from retailers this year, but it’s super easy to make your own (and more affordable). So skip the store-bought versions and learn how to make your own dried orange slices, then check out all the creative ways you can decorate with them for Christmas.
8. OVER ON THE ‘GRAM: I started a new series called 12 DIYs of Christmas, check out DIY #1, #2, and #3.
9. WEEKLY MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE: “Some people look for a beautiful place, others make a place beautiful.” ~Hazrat Inayat Khan
10. BEHIND THE SCENES: We all know about spring cleaning, but does anyone else get the urge to deep clean in the fall too? I’ve been spending some time behind the scenes scrubbing the inside and outside of our kitchen cabinets, and seriously, how do they get so dirty?! It’s one of those jobs I absolutely despise doing, but my goodness, does it feel good when it’s done!

1. FAVORITE STYLING MOMENT: Learning to add seasonal decor to a smaller home has been a fun challenge. My very first fall tour in our new-to-us house will be published tomorrow morning!
2. EASY DECORATING TIP OF THE WEEK: Try decorating with fall color without using traditional orange. Shades of olive green, deep blue, burgundy, camel, and warm gold can create a rich autumn look that blends beautifully with your everyday decor.
3. DID YOU KNOW: Did you know that you can use a hair dryer to remove stubborn price stickers from glass jars, vases, and other household items? A little warm air helps soften the adhesive, making it easier to peel away without leaving behind a sticky mess.
4. FAVORITE FIND FROM LAST WEEK: I ordered a pair of these to use on my dining room table when I decorate for Christmas this year. So pretty, very affordable, and great quality.
5. LOVELY LIVING AND BEYOND: Take a few minutes in the morning to sit quietly before the demands of the day begin. Use the time to gather your thoughts, pray, or simply be still. Starting from a place of peace can change the way the rest of the day feels.
6. READER QUESTION OF THE WEEK: “My room has plenty of furniture and accessories, but it still doesn’t feel cozy. Why?” See #10 for the answer!
7. WEEKLY AWESOME FINDS:
- These softly glowing paper snowflake and star string lights would add such a magical touch to a mantel, bookshelf, or holiday vignette.
- I can never resist an extra-cozy throw, and this wavy faux-fur blanket looks perfect for chilly evenings on the sofa.
- These hammered copper and gold measuring cups are so pretty that I would happily leave them displayed in the kitchen.
- How charming are these green cabbage and turkey plates? They would add such a festive, traditional touch to a Thanksgiving table.
- I love the scalloped brass container on this five-wick candle. It is just as much a decorative accent as it is a candle.
- This unique accent lamp would bring a warm glow and an interesting sculptural element to a side table or bookshelf.
- This charming Christmas cookbook is filled with seasonal inspiration and would look pretty displayed on a kitchen stand between uses.
- I love the warm texture of this ribbed wood tray. It would be beautiful styled on a coffee table, kitchen island, or dining room table.
8. WEARABLE STYLE:
- I love the classic patch pockets on these high-rise jeans. They have a polished, slightly retro look that would be so easy to wear with sweaters and loafers.
- This long-sleeve tiered dress has such an easy, feminine shape for fall.
- The side panels and wide-leg silhouette give these high-rise jeans a fresh look while still feeling classic and wearable.
- I love the graceful pleating on this jersey midi dress. It looks polished, but the soft fabric should make it comfortable enough to wear all day.
- This classic barn jacket has the prettiest corduroy collar and would be such a practical layer for crisp fall days.
- This soft knit shrug is an easy way to add a little warmth without covering up the rest of your outfit.
- The brown cheetah print gives this classic cable-knit cardigan just enough personality without making it difficult to wear.
- I love the timeless look of this collared denim shirt dress. Wear it alone now and layer it with a cardigan or jacket when the weather turns cooler.
9. HOME HACK: Slip a paint roller onto a broom handle for hard-to-reach dusting
A clean, dry paint roller attached to an extension handle can quickly pick up dust and cobwebs from high walls and ceilings without dragging out the ladder.
10. ANSWER TO READER QUESTION (#5): The missing ingredient may be contrast in texture. If everything in the room is smooth or similar, add something woven, nubby, soft, aged, or natural. A wicker basket beside an upholstered chair, a chunky throw over a smooth sofa, or an aged wood accent next to a painted piece can add the layers that make a room feel inviting.
