Summer is finally sizzling here at StoneGable, and I mean that literally! The heat and humidity have officially arrived, which means we’re firing up the grill as much as possible. There’s just something extra tasty about grilled food, and it keeps the kitchen nice and cool too. Don’t worry if you don’t have an outdoor grill, a cast iron grill pan on your stovetop works beautifully.
This week’s On The Menu is all about embracing those easy, breezy summer meals. You’ll find fresh flavors, simple recipes, and a mix of dinners, sides, salads, and a few sweet treats to round it all out. Whether you’re grilling out or keeping things indoors, there’s something here to help you enjoy the very best of the season, one delicious bite at a time.
Here’s what’s On The Menu for the week of July 28th:
Do you like fish tacos? They are a favorite of our family. During the summer, I add lots of toppings, such as tomatoes, peppers, and zucchini, to them for added crunch and color. The recipe calls for fried fish, but it tastes great any way you choose to cook it!

Sliced Garden Tomatoes
I think pasta night is Bobby’s favorite night of the week. I’m a big fan of this recipe because it uses whole-wheat pasta, which is less processed and has a nice chewy texture.
This recipe utilizes one of my secret weapons for making a creamy recipe healthier and more figure-friendly. Mixing equal parts of yogurt and cottage cheese in a food processor creates a creamy dairy product that can be used as a substitute for cream. And it tastes so delicious.
This recipe from Becca at My Crazy Good Life can be made in an Instant Pot, Slow Cooker, or on the stovetop!
Tuscan Chicken Pasta
Arugula Salad with Shaved Parmesan, Peppitas in a Lemon Vinaigrette
Tonight’s main dish is packed with an abundance of flavor. We are big carnivores here at the Tanglewood House! This steak dish is full of big, beefy flavor. I’m going to add only 1 tsp of sugar to the scrumptious marinade because the balsamic vinegar is sweet. Thank you, Kitchn, for this yummy recipe.
The marinade is a keeper and can be used on other beef cuts, chicken, and pork.
Have you made Nani’s Sauteed Rice before? If you read the On The Menu posts, I’m sure you have seen this rice so many times! This is my grandmother’s recipe, and it has always been a favorite. If you make one thing this week, Nani’s Sauteed Rice should be it!

Have you ever made White BBQ Sauce? I’ve never made it before and am so excited to give it a try. It has all the tasty umami flavors I love! Thanks, A Family Feast.
I’ll be making extra chicken and broccoli salad for lunches the rest of the week. And I’ll be using boneless skinless chicken breasts for some of the chicken.
Friday’s are pizza night and a movie when our grandkids are here. It thrills me that our children are also embracing this tradition that was part of their childhood!
So it’s frozen pizza for the kids and this gorgeous flatbread pizza for the adults. Just looking at the image makes me hungry
We all love pizza! And creating one on a flatbread is a brilliant idea! Thanks, Brenda from A Farmgirl’s Dabbles!

When you have family or a crowd of people to feed, try these make-ahead scrumptious meatballs! They will be the best meatballs you will ever make! No bragging, just truth!
So make sure to put them on your menu this week!
I’ll be having the meatballs without the spaghetti and won’t miss it at all! But I will have an extra slice of artisan bread!

It’s peach season in our area! They are sweet, juicy, and perfect for desserts. My friend, Ann, from On Sutton Place is a wonderful baker. I’m very excited to make her delicious Old-Fashioned Peach Cobbler!
