On the menu this week are plenty of fresh, summery favorites. We’re enjoying corn, zucchini, raspberries, onions, and of course, lots of juicy tomatoes from our garden and local farm stands. It doesn’t get more farm-to-table than this.

We’re also grilling a lot right now, and nothing beats a perfectly cooked piece of meat or fish served alongside vegetables picked straight from the garden. And I can’t forget the peaches, this year they’re especially sweet and absolutely irresistible.

Here’s what’s On The Menu this week…

We will have a full house this long weekend, but by dinnertime today, my kids and grands will have all gone home. The fish on today’s menu looks luscious! It’s such a quick and delicious dinner to make after a big weekend of cooking and fun.

Thanks, Nagi from Recipe Tin Eats.

Chicken Cacciatore is a big favorite of Bobby’s. I’m making a new-to-me recipe that I think he will love. Don’t be afraid to try new versions of your favorite recipes. You just might find one you love better. And change is a good thing!

This zesty recipe comes from Beach House Kitchen. Thanks, Maryann.

When life gets hectic and too busy to fuss, I turn to easy-peasy handheld items on the menu! I love these darling little ham, cheese, and spinach puffs. I can grab and go!

Use a good quality store-bought puff pastry to make these little puffs easy to make! Thanks, Eatwell 101!

If you are adventurous and have some time, you might want to make your own rough puff pastry. I’ve never made it, but it’s on my list to try. I’ve watched it being made many times on The Great British Baking Show!

Wow your guests for your next brunch with these ham & cheese puffs. eatwell101.com

Beef brisket is an On The Menu treat! We don’t have it often, and we should. Everyone here at Tanglewood LOVES brisket. And brisket makes fabulous leftovers! The flavor profile for this brisket is divine!

Another new-to-me recipe. Thanks, Simply Delicious.

The first time I tried fried green tomatoes was on a trip to Savannah. It’s the perfect Southern city to eat my first fried green tomatoes, don’t you think?

And this is how my love affair with fried green tomatoes and Savannah began! As a northerner, it’s almost sinful to pick green tomatoes off the vine this time of year, but I just can’t wait another month to eat these wonderful bites of Southern deliciousness!

So what do you serve with fried green tomatoes? Another Southern dish! I’m not sure if I’ll be making the catfish or the black-eyed peas. They both look so good. I love options!

This salmon recipe is just so beautiful! I know it’s going to be special just by the way it looks! Thanks, Feedfeed!

We certainly eat with our eyes first!

This lovely lemon zucchini glazed loaf is one of my favorite summery treats! It is just so good and moist! Lemon is the dominant flavor, but it is the humble zucchini that works its magic in the delicious, sweet bread! This recipe dates back to 2018. It’s an oldie but goodie!
