Whether you’re settling into a fall routine, planning for a busy week ahead, or simply looking for a few new ideas to shake up your meal plan, this week’s menu is here to inspire you. It’s filled with seasonal recipes that are practical, flavorful, and perfect for this time of year.
Right now, I’m reaching for meals that feel hearty and homey. Dishes that fill the kitchen with savory aromas and bring a little extra comfort to the table. You’ll find recipes this week that highlight fall’s best ingredients—think root vegetables, warm spices, slow-roasted meats, and cozy casseroles.
As the holidays draw near, I find myself leaning into meals that are simple to prepare but still feel special. This week’s menu reflects that balance, with tried-and-true favorites and a few new recipes to keep things interesting.
Here’s what’s On The Menu for the week of November 10th.
Beef Stroganoff is one of those timeless, comforting meals that feels a little bit luxurious without being fussy. It’s rich, creamy, and full of flavor, just the kind of dish that’s perfect for starting off the week on a delicious note.
When something is this good, I’d much rather enjoy a small serving of something truly scrumptious than settle for a whole plate of just okay. A few tender bites of beef, a swirl of that savory mushroom and sour cream sauce, and I’m perfectly happy.
Serve it over egg noodles, mashed potatoes, or even creamy polenta. And don’t forget a sprinkle of fresh parsley for a little pop of color and freshness at the end.
This is classic comfort food at its best, and it’s always worth making room for on the menu.
Vikalinka is a blog that makes me feel like home! I remember so many of these amazing dishes because my grandmother made them too! Thank you Julia for your gorgeous foodie blog! I’m a BIG fan!

Boneless skinless chicken breasts! Even the words evoke a love/hate feeling from me! I love that they have zero or low points and can be used in so many great recipes. I hate that they can also be rubbery and tasteless!
It’s all about the way they are prepared. Friends, please top, surround and pile on other ingredients to give chicken moisture and flavor! A fabulous example of a great boneless, skinless chicken breast filled with scrumptious flavor is on the menu today!
A big, big thank you to Eatwell101 for the lesson in good chicken!

Crab cakes are always a treat when they show up on the menu. They feel a little special, but the truth is, they’re surprisingly easy to make at home. When jumbo lump crabmeat goes on sale, I like to grab a can or two and keep it on hand for a quick and elegant dinner.
I’ll usually broil them for a golden top and tender center, but they’re just as delicious pan-fried if you prefer a crispier finish. Serve them with a simple salad, roasted veggies, or even on a toasted bun with a dollop of remoulade or tartar sauce.
They’re light, flavorful, and perfect for a weeknight when you want something a little different from the usual rotation.
Thanks, Jessica, your crab cakes look amazing! See Savory Experiments for this recipe and more!
This is one of my very favorite soups. It’s full of bold Tex-Mex flavors, and the best part is how easy it is to make. I always double the recipe and make a big pot. We’ll enjoy it for dinner, and then I freeze the rest for another day.
There’s something so satisfying about having a variety of homemade soups tucked away in the freezer. On a busy evening or chilly day, it’s such a comfort to pull one out, reheat it, and have a warm, flavorful meal on the table in no time.
This soup is definitely a keeper and a staple in my seasonal kitchen.
Halibut is one of my absolute favorite fish. Its firm white flesh and mild, buttery flavor make it such a versatile and elegant option for so many recipes. It cooks beautifully and pairs well with just about anything, from a light lemon butter sauce to a fresh herb topping or a simple squeeze of citrus.
It is a little more expensive than cod, which I also really enjoy, so when halibut goes on sale, I make sure to scoop up a few fillets. It’s one of those special ingredients that turns an everyday meal into something just a little more memorable.
If you’ve never cooked with halibut before, this is a great time to give it a try. It’s simple, quick, and always delicious. Thanks, Ingrid from A Cozy Apron!

Tonight I’m having some neighbors over for an easy and delicious fall dinner, Perfect Pot Roast. This recipe is an oldie but goodie recipe and it is good and company-worthy!
I’ll be serving the pot roast over a bed of creamy, cheesy polenta. The rich, slow-cooked beef with that silky polenta is the kind of meal that feels both rustic and a little bit special. It’s easy to pull together but makes everyone feel cared for and welcomed.
There’s just something about sharing a warm meal around the table as the days get shorter and cooler. I can’t wait.

Oh, we love football season around here. It’s not just about the game. It’s the cozy tradition of gathering around the TV with something warm and comforting to eat. There’s just something about fall, football, and food that go hand in hand.
One of our go-to game day favorites is my Beer Bread. I’ve been making this recipe for years, and it never fails. It’s quick, hearty, and full of flavor. I always save a slice or two to toast for breakfast the next morning. Slathered with a little butter, it’s my favorite way to enjoy it.
If you’ve never tried beer bread, this is a great place to start. Simple, rustic, and absolutely delicious.
I’m not much of a baker, but I love coffee cake. A piece of this delicious sweet treat with a cup of coffee is the perfect way to start my day!
This cake is moist and dense, and the streusel topping gives it a bit of sweetness. It’s full of fall spice and flavor!

So glad you like this fall inspired menu!
Yum, everything each day looks mouthwatering scrumptious. I will be following these starting Sunday.
Being a foodie and a planner by nature I love your weekly What’s on the Menu. After purchasing some pretty tasteless and tough boneless skinless chicken breasts I actually stopped buying them. Even slicing them horizontally and pounding them for recipes like chicken parm I still didn’t care for them. Until the last couple of years that is. I now buy only organic chicken. The texture is much better and much more tender. I also wonder what poultry farms are feeding these chickens that make them so huge and tough, and that gives me cause for concern.
Good to know Lyn, thanks!
Is there a recipe for the bread that is the initial picture on the post? Thanks!
Good morning Yvonne,
I wanted to thank you for sharing your Nani’s Rich Cabbage Soup recipe! I made it yesterday for dinner and my husband and I both thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s definitely a keeper. Reminded me of Old World cooking with simple, good for you ingredients that I was brought up on with my Polish mother and grandmother.
I tweaked it a bit by cooking through the one hour simmer BUT transferred it to my crockpot for 4.5 hours to cook. Shredded pork chops per the recipe. Delish!!!
Happy Friday to you, Yvonne.
