This week’s On The Menu includes seven dinner menus and thirty-five recipes filled with simple, delicious ideas. You’ll find seasonal mains, sides, salads, soups, breads, and desserts to mix and match all week long.
We’re easing from summer into early fall, so I’m pulling in a few cozy flavors—garden tomatoes, sweet onions, late-summer corn, and just a hint of warm spice.
Beautiful, seasonal recipes for hungry lives. Here’s what’s On The Menu.

Seriously, look at this cod dish! Garden tomatoes, basil, garlic, and lemon. We eat with out eyes and this dish looks scrumptious! Ashley’s blog Baker By Nature is new to me. But I think Ashley and I just might become besties!

My grandmother made this scrumptious chicken, just like her mother did before her, and then my own mother made it too. Now it’s my turn to carry on the tradition. This recipe has been a favorite in our family for as long as I can remember. It’s more than just something delicious to eat. It brings back sweet memories of family dinners, clinking dishes, and warm hugs from the kitchen.

This is one of my oldest recipes. Maybe someday I’ll update it… however, it’s a classic!

I’m so excited to share it with you. It’s simple to make, and the flavor is absolutely amazing. I crave it almost every week. If you try just one new recipe, let it be this one!

This soup is the very taste of fall in a bowl. The rich, earthy flavor of butternut squash pairs beautifully with the savory goodness of Italian sausage, giving this mostly pureed soup a hearty, meaty depth that makes it truly satisfying. If you’ve never tried butternut squash before, now is the perfect time. It’s not only delicious, but it’s also full of nutrients that are so good for you.

I like to make a double batch whenever I cook it. It keeps well and makes the most comforting lunches throughout the week. Once you try it, I think you’ll be making it again and again, too.

I remember when pork used to be so full of flavor, and of course, full of fat too. It was tender, juicy, and rich with that old-fashioned taste we all grew up loving. These days, pork is much leaner, and while I still enjoy it, I find that bone-in cuts are the best way to coax out every bit of flavor.

The flavor in this dish from Kevin Is Cooking, a new to me foodie blog, makes my mouth water! I can’t wait to try it!

If you like meatballs, make sure to try these amazing oven-to-slow-cooker ones. They are the best I have ever eaten. My friend Fran’s grandmother gave her this very top secret recipe before she went to heaven. And told her to keep it secret OR ELSE. After years, Fran gave it to me and gave me permission to give it to you. We are just afraid we will see Grandma Lo Bianco outside the pearly gates waiting for us! Make this recipe at your own risk of Grandma Lo Bianco tracking you down, too!

My kids absolutely love sushi. Me? I like it… at least some of it. And Bobby? Well, he’s not the biggest fan. But that’s okay. Sometimes you cook for the ones you love just because it brings them joy. I have all the equipment packed away, so I’m hauling it out and turning our kitchen into a little sushi-making station for the evening. It’s going to be a fun, hands-on dinner that I know my kids will be thrilled with. Memories like these are worth every minute of prep.

I think everyone should learn how to make a beef tenderloin and have a superb recipe for it in their recipe box. It is really very, very easy to make and very, very impressive! Now let’s talk kitchen gadgets you must have! An instant-read thermometer will help more than almost anything else to get a perfectly done roast or any meat, for that matter.

This roast combines two ingredients that my Bobby is so fond of… mushrooms and parmesan cheese. He will love dinner tonight. Thanks, Half Baked Harvest!
