1. FAVORITE STYLING MOMENT: Now that I’ve finished making cafe curtains for my kitchen, I’ve been adoring this view from my kitchen sink.

2. EASY DECORATING TIP OF THE WEEK: Swap out heavier decorative accents for lighter materials like glass, rattan, or wicker. These natural textures reflect the season and help your home feel airy and relaxed.

3. DID YOU KNOW: Did you know that switching to lighter bedding in April can actually help you sleep better? Breathable fabrics like cotton or linen keep you comfortable as temperatures begin to rise.

4. FAVORITE RECENT PURCHASE: To go along with my favorite styling moment, I want to feature this canister again. I have three of them and they are perfect for storing all of my different type of coffee pods and tea bags. Find all of my purchased and loved decorating, gadget, and organizing favorites HERE .

5. LOVELY LIVING AND BEYOND: Take stock of what truly sustains you. Notice which habits, people, and routines bring peace rather than noise. Let this awareness guide the months ahead in a calm, steady way.

6. READER QUESTION OF THE WEEK: “Do I have to change all my pillows every season?” See #10 for the answer!

9. HOME HACK: Open windows on opposite sides of your home for a quick cross-breeze. Instead of airing out one room at a time, open windows across from each other to pull fresh air through the house in minutes.

10. ANSWER TO READER QUESTION (#5):  Not at all. Instead of replacing everything, keep a few neutral pillows year round and swap in one or two seasonal covers. This small change can shift the feel of the room without needing to store a large collection of pillows.

1. RED, WHITE, & BLUE: Americana decor is having a major moment right now and I’m not talking about those flag or star shaped tinsel wreaths from the dollar store. In this post, I’m sharing cozy Americana decor ideas that are layered, collected, and full of character.

2. COZY TIP OF THE WEEK: Your home isn’t meant to stay the same forever, and that’s a good thing! Before you buy anything new, try rearranging what you already own first. Moving pieces to a new spot makes them feel brand new again.

3. AMAZON FINDS: Shop cozy finds I’m loving on Amazon.

4. LITTLE THINGS I’M LOVING:

5. FROM MY KITCHEN TO YOURS: With the warmer weather we’ve been having, I’ve been craving my Mediterranean penne pasta salad. It’s packed with fresh veggies, feta, and a zesty homemade vinaigrette. Great for picnics, cookouts, or an easy make-ahead lunch any day of the week.

6. UPDATING MY WARDROBE:

7. MAKE THIS WITH ME: One of my favorite things we’ve ever added to our home is a kitchen window box herb garden. Being able to snip fresh parsley, rosemary, thyme, and chives right from the kitchen window is fun, charming, and practical.

8. OVER ON THE ‘GRAM: You’ve been wondering how to add more personality and coziness to your home and then you find my account.

9. WEEKLY MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE: “The sun at home warms better than the sun elsewhere.” ~Albanian Proverb

10. HAPPY EARTH DAY: Intentional decorating is sustainable decorating. Every quilt you rescue from an estate sale, every vintage crock you spot at a thrift store, every basket you pick up at the flea market is one less thing ending up in a landfill. Shopping secondhand has always been the secret to a home with character and it’s good for the earth too!

3. 5 DAYS TO BE A BETTER DECORATOR: In just 5 days, you can tackle your biggest decorating issues and get unstuck! I’ll show you how. Sign up HERE.

4. ANSWER TO LIFE’S LITTLE QUESTIONS:

  • How do you remove a piece of pasta from a pot of boiling water to test whether it is done? Use chopsticks to pluck a piece out.
  • How do you chill a glass of wine without watering it down? Freeze grapes and use them instead of ice cubes.
  • How can I keep plastic wrap from sticking to itself? Put it in the fridge. Cold plastic wrap is easier to handle and less likely to stick to itself when covering food.

5. FABULOUS FINDS:

6. BEAUTIFUL HOMES AND MORE:  Tour this home in St. Louis that’s a study in layering decor to create a beautiful look and feel. I love the comfortable look of this home in Maine, filled with the color blue and collected things. Visit this classic NYC apartment with classic charm, and this western New York home filled with European antiques.

7. FUN AND INTERESTING FACTS: Animals- What dog was nominated for an Academy Award? What animals hold hands when they sleep?

8. CURATED CLOSET: Classics that never go out of style

9. CULINARY CORNER: Don’t waste the last bits of food like jam, pesto, or mayonnaise in the bottom of a jar. Use it to make a quick vinaigrette. Add vinegar, oil, salt, and pepper. Shake the jar well to mix. Pour over your salad for a burst of flavor, or use it as a marinade. This simple trick turns scraps into a tasty dressing.

10. THE LAST WORD: Let’s laugh. Motherhood is Chaos!

ANSWER TO #7: Rin Tin Tin was nominated for an Academy Award. Sea otters hold hands when they sleep to keep them from drifting apart. So cute! Now you know!

Happy Wednesday, friends…

  1. Any chance you can fix the Walmart links so they open in a new tab and don’t require going all the way back to beginning of blog every time you tap on one? Love your blogs!

    1. Becky, I checked every link and they all click over to the item online. It might be a setting on your computer. Sorry I can’t help.
