Welcome To Weekly Wednesday Wish List #222

Fall is my favorite time of year, and if you’ve followed my blog for a while, you’ve probably heard me say that more than once! I’m not alone, 41% of people in the United States call fall their favorite season, too. And no wonder!

This short but glorious slice of the year brings crisp sweater weather, trees ablaze with color, football, apple cider and cider donuts, pumpkin patches, hayrides, bonfires, cozy blankets, mums in full bloom, corn mazes, pies baking in the oven, the first pot of soup on the stove, gatherings with friends, and the joy of decorating our homes with a nod to the season.

Today on WWW, we’re sharing plenty of ideas to help you savor all the beauty and charm fall has to offer. There’s something for everyone on Weekly Wednesday Wish List!

1. EASY DECORATING TIP OF THE WEEK: For a quick and simple fall update, tuck seasonal stems into your existing arrangements—no need to start from scratch.

Why this works: Adding seasonal stems to what you already have gives your home a fresh fall feel without the extra work. It’s an easy way to bring in autumn color and texture while keeping your arrangements looking full and intentional.

2. DID YOU KNOW: Did you know that inexpensive brown paper shreds make great filler for fall arrangements or to add to the bottom of a container?

3. FAVORITE RECENT PURCHASE: I am in love with this art print and the faux bamboo frame that I purchased for it. And it looks fantastic with the wallpaper in my hall bathroom!

4. LOVELY LIVING AND BEYOND: Lovely living at home happens when your home reflects stories – let items you love tell theirs. Display a few treasured things (an heirloom bowl, travel keepsake, family photo) in your living spaces. Select a shelf, side table, or console and limit yourself to 3-5 favorite pieces.

5. READER QUESTION OF THE WEEK: What’s the best way to arrange throw pillows on a sofa so that it looks stylish instead of messy? See #10 for the answer!

6. WEEKLY AWESOME FINDS:

7. WEARABLE STYLE: Let’s put together an entire fall outfit – perfect for casual or dressy occasions.

8. HOME HACK: Lampshades looking a little dingy? Dust, pet hair, and fuzz collects before you know it. If you don’t want to replace them, try using a simple lint roller. It will instantly making the shade look cleaner and brighter.

9. FAVORITE STYLING MOMENT: After weeks of living in our new-to-us house, I was finally able to style my china cabinet and get rid of the awful, crooked chandelier that the previous owners left. Even though there’s still more decorating to be done, I couldn’t be happier to give new life to the special chandelier that I originally purchased for our previous home.

10. ANSWER TO READER QUESTION (#5): Use a mix of pillows in various sizes to create visual depth so that your sofa looks styled instead of cluttered. Layer them starting with the largest (20″-22″) on the ends, then add medium ones (18″-20″) toward the middle. Finish with a lumbar in the middle of the sofa. Using multiple sizes is more comfortable, since each size serves a purpose—support, layering, or just a pop of personality.

1. DECORATING WITH YOUR 5 SENSES: The coziest homes aren’t just about what you see with your eyeballs, they’re about how a space feels, smells, sounds, and even tastes. When you intentionally decorate with all five senses in mind, your house becomes a place you love to come home to.

2. COZY TIP OF THE WEEK: Slip into something more comfortable (literally) the second you walk through the door. Keep a pair of cozy slippers by your entryway to shift your mindset from the outside world to home sweet home.

3. INQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW: Do you decorate your home for Halloween, or just for fall in general?

I decorate for fall, not Halloween. Now, sometimes I might sprinkle in a few Halloween touches like a Halloween treat or a cozy ghost garland, but nothing too spooky. If you’ve been around here the past few years, you know Christmas starts making its way into our home right around October 31st!

4. LITTLE THINGS I’M LOVING:

  • The prettiest paper napkins I’ve ever seen!!!
  • Sniffles are inevitable, but ugly tissue boxes don’t have to be.
  • Every kitchen should have one of these for fall.
  • This platter is perfect for game day and has some serious MacKenzie-Childs vibes.
  • Knock, Knock. Who’s there? A fillable basket door knocker!
  • The woven texture makes this wicker vase feel timeless and collected.
  • throw pillow cover you can use for fall and for the holidays.
  • I bought these last year for our Christmas decorations and I’m excited Magnolia brought them back again this year.

5. FROM MY KITCHEN TO YOURS: This week I made my Instant Pot Chicken Pot Pie Casserole…the epitome of comfort food. The creamy, savory filling comes together in minutes thanks to the Instant Pot, then it’s topped with a golden, flaky puff pastry crust. It’s a recipe that makes weeknight dinner taste like Sunday supper.

6. UPDATING MY FALL WARDROBE: With cozy accessories.

7. WEDNESDAY WELLNESS: As we spend more time indoors, don’t forget your daily dose of Vitamin D. A little sunshine, a quick walk, and/or Vitamin D rich foods can help keep your mood and energy up as we head into fall and winter.

8. MAKE THIS WITH ME: Turn air dry clay into the coziest coasters. You’ll need air dry clay, a rolling pin, a house-shaped cookie cutter, parchment paper, and Mod Podge. Roll out the clay and press out house shapes with the cookie cutter. Let the coasters dry completely, then brush on a coat of Mod Podge to seal and protect. They’re functional and look charming on a coffee table or tucked under a mug of something warm.

9. WEEKLY MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE: “To be kind is more important than to be right. Many times what people need is not a brilliant mind that speaks but a special heart that listens.” ~ F. Scott Fitzgerald

10. WOULD YOU RATHER FALL EDITION:

  • Go Apple Picking or Visit a Pumpkin Patch
  • Carve Pumpkins or Decorate Them
  • Wear a Chunky Sweater or a Cozy Flannel
  • Burn a Cinnamon Candle or a Vanilla Candle

MY WOULD YOU RATHER ANSWERS: I’d head straight for the pumpkin patch in my chunky sweater, come home to carve up a few pumpkins, and then light a cinnamon candle…basically my perfect fall day!

Happy Wednesday, friend…
