Pour into a bowl. Stir in ½ cup finely chopped vegetables and ½ cup cooked turkey bacon or chicken sausage (optional). Divide into muffin cups, filling ¾ full. 1. EASY DECORATING TIP OF THE WEEK: These are some of the easiest, most affordable ways to refresh a room that I know of.
2. DID YOU KNOW? Did you know that my very first blog post went live in 2011? Oh, how I cringe when I look back at those first posts! I had no idea then that I would still be at this 14 years later. I’m not sure if it’s fun or a nightmare to look back to see how far things have come. It’s still far from perfect, but hopefully my photography has improved a bit since then.
3. FAVORITE RECENT PURCHASE: Our new-to-us house was built in 1968 and is filled with old, grody doorknobs. I purchased these for every door in the house and can’t wait to get them installed. It will be one of those subtle, but instant changes that will make the whole house feel fresher.
4. LOVELY LIVING AND BEYOND: I never knew that a pat of butter could be considered a work of art. In the South, we’re currently in the heart of the dog days of summer. It’s a part of the annual rhythm that I’ve lived with my whole life—sticky, slow, and sweltering. Now I have a whole new appreciation for where the phrase actually comes from. And speaking of Southern summers, this dreamy home has me daydreaming about porch sitting, ocean breezes, and linen everything.
5. READER QUESTION OF THE WEEK: Help! I’ve been trying so hard to pull my room together, but everything I already own is mismatched. What can I do? The answer is below!
6. WEEKLY AWESOME FINDS:
- Make your outdoor living space both pretty and functional.
- A great looking small side table at a great price.
- Add this console table for an amazing room.
- I love a pretty catch-all.
- Here’s one for the man in your life.
- Our ride-or-die must have for the beach.
- Wow – what an amazing price for outdoor furniture!
- I can personally attest to the effectiveness of these for keeping mosquitoes at bay.
7. WEARABLE STYLE: Is there any fabric better than linen during the summer? Even better when it’s in the form of an easy, breezy dress that’s on sale for over half off.
8. HOME HACK: Every morning we wake up to condensation on the windows from lowering the air conditioning temp at night. I love this idea for stopping condensation buildup (and the increased chance of mold) on windows.
9. FAVORITE STYLING MOMENT: What a great way to wow your guests when you entertain.
10. ANSWER TO THE READER QUESTION: Pulling mismatched decor together can seem scary, but here’s a simple solution. Start by choosing one thing you love in the room – a rug, pillow, or artwork, for example. Pull colors or patterns from it to guide the rest of the room. Then repeat those colors/patterns throughout the room at least three times to create a unified, cohesive look.

1. JULY IS NATIONAL PICNIC MONTH: I don’t know about you, but I don’t think there is anything cozier or more fun than a picnic?! A blanket spread out in the park, lunch at the beach, or even an impromptu spread on the living room floor makes a meal feel extra special.
And if it’s currently as hot as the Sahara Desert where you live (like it is here in Massachusetts), an indoor picnic with the AC cranked is just as wonderful…maybe even better!
If you want to plan your own, here’s a few ideas to get you started:

2. COZY TIP OF THE WEEK: Did you know that “weeds” can be used as decorative flowers too! Daisies, Queen Anne’s lace, buttercups, wild grasses, ferns, and even dandelions can look beautiful when gathered in a little glass jar or vintage bottle. Nature has a way of decorating for us, we just have to pay attention.
3. LITTLE THINGS I LOVE: A few things that caught my eye this week, that I think you’ll love too.
- This squirrel lamp might be advertised for a child’s bedroom, but I want it for the side table in our living room.
- This cute pumpkin. It’s not too early to get something new for fall.
- Wallpaper…at Target?!
- This inexpensive dinnerware set is giving me all the vintage vibes.
- A bestseller in my LTK boutique for over a week.
- If you want to invest in something new that will never go out of style, it’s this.
- No oven required to make your house smell like something is baking in the oven. P.S. Use code HEIDI20 for 20% off your purchase.
- The prettiest addition to any kitchen.
4. SUMMER TO FALL TRANSITION PLAN FOR YOUR HOME: I know we’re still soaking up the summer sun, but if you’re like me, your heart might already be craving that first hint of fall (it’s ok if it is, I won’t tell anyone). That’s why I created a brand new freebie filled with simple, intentional tips to help you ease into the season without feeling overwhelmed. There’s no need to rush into pumpkins and plaid just yet, this guide will help you layer in the cozy, one step at a time. You can sign up here to grab your copy.
5. FROM MY KITCHEN TO YOURS: There’s something about summer peaches that just tastes like home. My grandma’s old fashioned fresh peach pie is a family favorite that’s been passed down through generations. It’s simple, sweet, and nostalgic with fresh peaches nestled in a creamy custard filling, all tucked into a golden pie crust. It’s the kind of dessert that disappears fast…I may know from experience!
6. INQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW: Where did the name Eleanor Rose Home come from? Most people think my name is Eleanor (nope, it’s Heidi), but the blog is actually named after our dachshund-yorkshire terrier rescue, Eleanor Roosevelt. Yes, she’s got a big name for a little dog! When I started this blog, I wanted the name to feel personal, nostalgic, and full of love. “Eleanor Rose Home” felt like the perfect fit!
7. MAKE THIS WITH ME: If your garden is overflowing with herbs, try oven drying them. Just spread them on a parchment lined cookie sheet and bake at the lowest temp (around 170°F) for 1–2 hours. Once they’re dry and crumbly, store dried herbs in spice jars to use all year long.
8. CHRISTMAS IN JULY: Next week, I’m kicking off a Christmas in July email series with five days of festive inspiration delivered straight to your inbox. I’ll be sharing everything from easy homemade gift ideas to cozy decorating tips and a sneak peek at the trends I’m loving for Christmas 2025, you won’t want to miss it! Make sure you’re on my email list so you don’t miss a single cozy idea.
9. WEEKLY MOTIVATION QUOTE: “Just one small positive thought in the morning can change your whole day.” ~Dalai Lama
