Welcome To Wednesday Weekly Wishlist #159

Our dear friend, Ann, will not be joining us for WWW as she is mourning the loss of her beloved father. She will be taking the next two weeks off. We pray that she finds comfort, healing, and strength in the Lord and in the support of her family, children, and grandchildren during this difficult time. We miss you, Ann, and look forward to your return.

Lory is first today…

1. One of my all-time most popular posts shares how I transformed my dining room without replacing the furniture. I went from old school French Country to a more edgy rustic French chic, but the concepts of the transformation will help you save money on an update, regardless of your style.

2. AMAZON PICKS: here are this week’s favorites from Amazon.

3. THIS WEEK ON THE BLOG I shared this exquisite rustic modern home tour, the story of the evolution of our front entry foyer and this post about our kitchen remodel focusing on saving money by painting the cabinets.

7. ENTERTAINING: Looking for decorating ideas for summer entertaining? Be inspired by this tablescape with colorful summer flowers and by the notion of mixing surprising patterns in classic table decor.

8. FASHION PICKS: Due to the overwhelming popularity of last week’s summer capsule in black, white and khaki, I’m sharing it again:

9. WHAT’S INSPIRING ME AROUND THE WEB: This beautiful warm and charming home, this stunning mix of rustic with modern, and this exquisite home that’s a bit more modern that I usually like, but oh-so-gorgeous.

1. Happy July! Summer is speeding by. The Best Things To Do In July will help you celebrate every day.

2. AMAZON FINDS: See all my favorite new picks.

3. ANSWER TO LIFE’S LITTLE QUESTIONS:

  • How do you remove a piece of pasta from a pot of boiling water to test whether it is done? Use chopsticks to pluck a piece out.
  • How do you chill a glass of wine without watering it down? Freeze grapes and use them instead of ice cubes.
  • How can I keep plastic wrap from sticking to itself? Put it in the frig. Cold plastic wrap is easier to handle and less likely to stick to itself when covering food.

4. FAVORITE FINDS THIS WEEK:

5. BEAUTIFUL HOMES AND MORE: This home in St. Louis is a study in layering decor to create a beautiful look and feel. I love the comfortable look of this home in Maine, filled with the color blue and collected things. And this San Francisco townhouse is cozy and comfortable using collected items.

6. CAPSULE WARDROBE:

7. FUN AND INTERESTING FACTS: What is the full moon in July called? What animals hold hands when they sleep?

8. INSPIRATION: Need ideas to decorate, organize, and clean your kitchen? Here are 60+ tried-and-true ideas to help! Independence Day is on Thursday. Make a simple patriotic arrangement that will add a bit of red, white, and blue to your home in an edited way.

9. CULINARY CORNER: Don’t waste the last bits of food like jam, pesto, or mayonnaise in the bottom of a jar. Use it to make a quick vinaigrette. Add vinegar, oil, salt, and pepper. Shake the jar well to mix. Pour over your salad for a burst of flavor, or use it as a marinade. This simple trick turns scraps into a tasty dressing.

10. MORE INSPIRATION: This home in the Isle Of Hope has a classic Southern style and is worth reading about. Visit this handsome 2023 Southern Living Home in Tennessee.

ANSWER TO #7: The full moon in July is called the Buck Moon because male deer begin to grow their antlers. Sea otters hold hands when they sleep to keep them from drifting apart. So cute! Now you know!

Happy Wedensday, Friends!

  1. I always enjoy the WWWs. Couldn’t help but look up the blue/white dog bowl suggested by Lory. May I suggest that we can save ourselves a good chunk of money by using one of our own dinner or serving bowls?! I use 2 matching blue/white vintage bowls for our cat friend, Max (don’t tell Max but he thinks he is a dog). They look lovely on our kitchen floor and match the rest of my decor. I just have to be careful about washing them separately and using them ONLY for Max! I’ve gotten many comments on Max’s food and water bowls.
