Welcome To Wednesday Weekly Wish List #158

I’m a tip person. I love a smart tip or hack that will make my life easier. And if it makes my life easier and elevates the everyday, I LOVE it! How about you? I think it’s one of the biggest reasons I can’t wait to get and read Ann’s and Lory’s lists every week. I trust these ladies to give me great tips, advice, hacks, and more! So if you also like tips, this week’s list is full of them! Enjoy!

  • How can you change the hardware in your home on a budget? You can spray paint it! Get paint with a built-in primer.
  • How do you remove a key that has broken in a lock? Lubricate the inside of the lock, and then use a tweezer to wiggle the key out.
  • How do you easily find the end of a roll of tape? Stick a paper clip to the end of the tape.

5. BEAUTIFUL HOMES: You will love this beautiful English-style home in New Jersey, then scoot over to California for a Boho beauty. And back to the Easy Coast for a visit to a gorgeous NYC apartment. I think these small living spaces are so interesting!

6. WHAT TO WEAR: These are my favorite feminine picks, LOVE!

9. CULINARY CORNER: Delicious Summer Fruit Crisp: Preheat the oven to 350°. Grease a large pie dish with butter. In a large bowl, gently combine 6 cups of summer fruit (or a mix of fruits), 1/4 cup flour, 1/4 cup sugar, 1 zest of a lemon and its juice. In a food processor, pulse until combined; add 1 1/2 cups flour, 3/4 cup sugar, 3/4 brown sugar, packed, 1 cup oatmeal (regular from the round container), 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 pound (2 sticks). Put the fruit in the bottom of the pie dish. Sprinkle 2 1/2 cups of the crumb topping over the fruit. Freeze the rest of the topping for the next fruit crisp. Bake for 40-45 minutes. Cool for 15-20 minutes and serve with ice cream.

One of the most fun things I did last Christmas was to make Dried Oranges. Updating An Old Christmas Wreath is a step-by-step DIY for turning your rattiest old wreath into something magical!

ANSWER TO #7: Watermelon is the most hydrating summer treat. The first state to give women the right to vote was not a state at all. The Wyoming Territory gave women the right to vote in 1869.

8. FASHION PICKS: I’ve spent a bit of time reviewing my summer wardrobe and realized I’m not a fan of bright colorful clothing, but I also don’t want to wear all black in the summer. As such, I’ve focused my attention on a capsule of black, white, and khaki basics mixed to their best advantage. Favorite pieces include this perfect black tee with white Bermuda shorts, this black cotton midi dress with khaki linen cardigan, this white tank top (also comes in black) with black cropped jeans (pair with the same khaki sweater), this bi-color tank top with white wide leg pants, this khaki maxi dress with black or white boyfriend blazer, this black midi slip skirt with white linen eyelet tank and khaki linen oversized shirt. Boom… done!

9. WHAT’S INSPIRING ME AROUND THE WEB: I absolutely love how this home hits the perfect note of modern mixed with rustic. Here’s another wonderful mix of rustic traditional with modern, but done with more color and darks and lights. This home veers a little more true modern and yet still utilizes rustic notes to warm up the spaces. The use of black is perfection.

Happy Wednesday, Friend!
