Fall place setting with a animal print plate

Fall arrived right on time here in Lancaster County, and I couldn’t be happier. For the past few years, the season seemed to struggle to get going. Some years it felt like we were still waiting for crisp air and colorful leaves well into December. But not this year. The air is cool, the skies are clear, and autumn has shown up in all its beautiful glory.

With the shift in weather, I’ve been so excited to get back to cooking all my favorite cozy meals. This is the season for simmering soups, savory stews, and hearty dishes that bring comfort to your table. I’ve been pulling out my Dutch oven and planning meals that warm us from the inside out.

This week’s menu is full of seasonal flavor, practical recipes, and a few treats that celebrate the best of fall. Be sure to check out the extra recipes at the end of the post. They are truly fall on a plate.

Enjoy this beautiful time of year and make something delicious for those you love.

Here’s what’s On The Menu this week…

Chicken Piccata is one of my all-time favorite meals. It’s light, lemony, and full of bright, savory flavor. Best of all, it’s easy enough for a weeknight but elegant enough to serve to company. Treat your family to something special with this simple and satisfying dish.

This scrumptious recipe is from one of my favorite foodie blogs, A Pinch Of Yum.

And don’t skip the salad on the menu. It pairs beautifully with the Piccata and adds a fresh, crisp balance to the meal.

We are true carnivores here at StoneGable, and steak is always a favorite on our table. There’s just something about a beautifully seared piece of beef that feels hearty and satisfying. This recipe is extra special with tender steak tips paired with savory mushrooms. It’s simple, elegant, and full of rich, delicious flavor.

If you can’t find steak tips, don’t worry. Flank steak is a great substitute and works beautifully in this dish. Just slice it thinly across the grain for the best texture.

This one is a keeper, especially for those cozy evenings when you want something filling and full of flavor.

This recipe is from The Kitchn.

This chicken gyro recipe is a new favorite at our house. It’s fresh, flavorful, and surprisingly easy to put together. The warm, seasoned chicken paired with cool, crisp toppings and creamy tzatziki makes every bite delicious.

This is one of those meals that feels special but is simple enough for a weeknight dinner. The leftovers are just as tasty the next day, too. If you’re looking for something fresh and satisfying, this recipe is a must-try.

Have you ever had Bonefish Grill’s Bang Bang Shrimp? If not make reservations tonight and GO!

Really, they are addictive and absolutely scrumptious. My son Christopher and I went to lunch on Saturday and shared a pile of them.

I’m ready for a copycat version I can make at home anytime I want this delicious dish! And I’m thinking I can probably use the recipe to make Bang Bang Chicken!

Thanks, Dinner Then Dessert!

Salmon is a hearty fish that is heart-healthy too. And it is even better when served with a sweet and garlicky sauce! Wild-caught salmon is pricy but so healthy so this is a meal I splurge on! And I am not a fan of Sockeye Salmon I opt for another variety of wild-caught.

I like to cook an easy dinner on Fridays because Bobby and I usually watch a show or play cards or a game. This salmon dinner cooks up in about 15 minutes so it is perfect for a Friday night in.

This yummy recipe comes from Rasa Malaysia.

Pasta night is always one of my favorite evenings at home. There’s something so comforting about a big bowl of noodles, a rich sauce, and something hearty alongside it and that’s exactly what we’re getting with Grandma Lo Bianco’s Famous Meatballs. You’ll find the recipe over at StoneGable, and it’s truly one of those “must‑make” dishes.

Picture this: tender meatballs made from a blend of beef, veal, and pork, seasoned beautifully with garlic, onion, parsley, basil, oregano and Parmesan, all slow‑simmered in a flavorful sauce. These are the kind of meatballs that feel like home, full of rich flavor, family tradition, and love baked right into every bite.

The leftovers are just as good… if there are any!

Is Sunday dinner still a “thing”? I love having a delicious and filling dinner on Sunday with family and/or friends.

Tonight my best friend is joining us for a delicious and easy baked chicken from one of my favorite foodie blogs. Thanks, Natasha from Salt and Lavender.

Oh YUM! We all love carrot cake! And I especially love this cake because it is made in a 9 x 13 pan! I’m going to try to make it early in the week and freeze it and then thaw it and ice it for our family dinner.

Carrot cake has so many beautiful flavors that feel like fall!

This wonderful treat comes to us from Holly at Spend With Pennies.
