August is still here, but fall has officially arrived on the blog this week. All three of us are leaning into the season, and you’ll find plenty of overlap if you love a good theme: fresh decorating ideas for your kitchen and beyond, cozy Amazon and Walmart finds perfect for fall, wardrobe pieces worth adding to your closet now, and recipes that taste like the season. 3.  FALL IDEA BOOK: Get inspired with the Welcome To Fall Idea Book. 36 pages filled with creative ways to bring the warmth and charm of the season into your home.

4. THIS AND THAT: THIS is so helpful if you cook. THIS is a smart plan for fall decorating. I LOVE this homemaker! I make THIS all the time, and it’s the best. Here’s the written recipe you can print. Warm up the gray in your home without starting over; read THIS. THAT‘s it.

5. FABULOUS HOME FINDS:

6. BEAUTIFUL HOME TOURS: Let’s start with a 120-year-old family home in Maine, then visit a warm, collected home in New Jersey. You will love this home in Locust Valley, New York, with an effortless country-living feel, and this historic home in Louisville.

7. FUN AND INTERESTING FACTS: How many new cells do you produce in a second? What pet did Andrew Jackson, our 7th president, have?

8. CURATED CLOSET: FALL FAVOURITES

9. CULINARY CORNER: Brown Butter Maple Apple Crisp: Brown butter until nutty. In a bowl, mix 6 peeled, sliced apples, ¼ cup maple syrup, 2 tbsp flour, 1½ tsp cinnamon, ½ tsp vanilla, and a pinch of salt; spread in a 9×9 dish. In another bowl, mix ¾ cup oats, ¾ cup flour, ½ cup brown sugar, 1 tsp cinnamon, ½ cup pecans, and a pinch of salt; stir in brown butter and crumble over apples. Bake at 375°F for 35 to 40 minutes until golden and bubbly. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.

10. THE LAST WORD: Vintage or well-loved decor pieces are some of the best accents to use in fall decorating without pumpkins. They bring history, warmth, and a sense of story that pairs beautifully with other seasonal items. For more, see Fall Decorating Without Pumpkins: Warm and Inviting Ideas.

ANSWER TO #7: A human person produces about 2.8 million new cells a second. Andrew Jackson had a pet parrot named Poll that had to be removed from his funeral for reciting a stream of profanities his owner had taught it.

1. FALL KITCHEN DECORATING IDEAS: You don’t need an entire Saturday to make your kitchen feel like fall. Find 60+ quick fall kitchen decor ideas you can do in five minutes or less using things you probably already have in your home (or yard).

2. COZY TIP OF THE WEEK: Flower arrangements don’t have to be big or elaborate to make an impact. A small vintage creamer filled with a few hydrangeas snipped right from your yard can be the most beautiful thing you can put in a room. I think the smaller the vessel, the more charming it tends to look.

3. AMAZON FINDS: Shop cozy finds I’m loving on Amazon.

4. LITTLE THINGS I’M LOVING:

5. FROM MY KITCHEN TO YOURS: I don’t know what it is about a dip, but it feels super cozy to me and my cream cheese caramel apple dip is the ultimate fall version. It’s light, fluffy, and packed with caramel flavor, topped with more caramel sauce and vanilla wafers, and served with crisp apple slices for dipping.

8. OVER ON THE ‘GRAM: As a homebody, these are the things I’m doing now to get ready for the ‘ber months.

9. WEEKLY MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE: “If I see it in nature, I know it will work in a home.” ~Miles Redd

10. HAPPY NATIONAL DOG DAY! We’re celebrating our favorite little pup, Eleanor, who has been the heart and soul of this corner of the internet since the very beginning. Hug your four-legged friend a bit tighter today; they make our homes and our lives so much cozier just by being in them!

3. DID YOU KNOW: Did you know that fireflies aren’t actually flies? They’re beetles, and the light they produce is considered one of the most efficient forms of light in nature because almost none of the energy is lost as heat.
