9 Best New Home Decor Trends For 2025
Discover the 9 best home decor trends for 2025! Explore stylish ideas to refresh your home with timeless and modern design inspirations.

We all love trends, whether we want to admit it or not. It’s natural! Especially the newest home decor for the new year. We all have good reason to be excited this year, as they are mostly fresh and very appealing!
Before I begin any trend post, I like to discuss trends and classics. Trends make much better sense if you understand trends, classics, and the differences.
What Is A Trend
Trends are born as a reaction to the world around us. They reflect the ever-changing landscape of our lives. Our needs, our desires, and even our quirks! A trend can be a creative and beautiful solution to what is happening in the world or simply a way to bring a fresh perspective into our homes. Trends may be practical, inventive, or even a little over-the-top.
When we talk about trends, we’re focusing on what’s hot and highly popular in interior design right now. That doesn’t mean other styles are outdated or less appealing. Far from it! Timeless styles and personal favorites will always have a place in your home. Trends are simply the “bright new thing” capturing attention in the design world at the moment.
Whether you love following trends or prefer to stay away from them, the most important thing to remember is to surround yourself with what you love. After all, your home is a reflection of you. Your tastes, your memories, and the things that bring you joy. So, embrace the trends you love, but always stay true to your style because your home should be your sanctuary.
What Is A Classic

Oh, I love a good classic! Classic decor is the epitome of timeless beauty. It’s the kind of design that has stood the test of time and good taste, remaining effortlessly stylish no matter the decade. Classics transcend fleeting fads and trends, holding their place as a cornerstone of beautiful interiors.
Interestingly, some trends can evolve into classics. A trend may start as the “it” decor of the moment, but if it proves its enduring appeal and versatility over time, it can secure a coveted spot on the high and lofty pedestal of classic design, becoming the “best of the best.”
While I enjoy trends and the excitement they bring to decorating, I approach them thoughtfully. I love incorporating trends that feel timeless or have the potential to become classics, but I tend to use them sparingly. After all, I’m a classic girl through and through!
The beauty of classic decor is its ability to seamlessly mix with other styles. Whether you layer it with trendy accents or let it stand alone, classic pieces are the foundation of a home that feels polished, refined, and utterly timeless.
The Top Trends For 2025
Here are the top 9 Home decor trends I think will be most popular in 2025 and beyond.
Romantic Style
This year’s hottest decorating styles were also popular last year. English Country, Cottagecore, and Nancy Myer Style! They are still at the top of the decorating style trends for 2025.
What The Experts Say
These styles all have a comfortable, lived-in look and appeal. In their own way, they mix classic furnishings with both new and vintage accents. And everything revolves around a romantic look.
What These Styles Have In Common
These styles all have a lovely, welcoming look that will be very popular in 2025. Here are some things they have in common…
- Comfortable Elegance: All styles prioritize cozy, inviting spaces with a refined touch.
- Neutral + Soft Colors: Use muted palettes with creams, soft blues, and greens.
- Layered Textures: Emphasis on plush fabrics, warm woods, and natural materials.
- Timeless Appeal: Classic elements that feel enduring rather than trendy.
- Decorative Details: Subtle patterns, floral prints, and charming accents.
- Functional Beauty: Spaces designed for both practicality and aesthetic appeal.
- Connection to Nature: Incorporation of natural elements like fresh flowers or garden views.
- Lived-In Look: A sense of warmth and authenticity, as if the space has a story.
My Two Cents
The beauty of English Country, Cottagecore, and Nancy Meyers-inspired styles is that they are timeless classics. These are not fleeting trends but enduring designs that keep coming back into popularity. What goes around truly comes around, friends!
Many bloggers and Instagrammers have embraced romanticizing their life because of its charm and beauty. You don’t need to toss out your current decor to enjoy these looks. Instead, these styles are wonderfully adaptable and can easily blend with what you already have in your home.
The essence of these styles is warmth, character, and a touch of softness and nostalgia, which means you likely already own pieces that align with them. Think cozy throws, ruffles, wallpaper, vintage-inspired furniture that looks lived in, or decorative accents like candles and books. A few thoughtful additions, like a floral block-print pattern, natural materials like wood, or a bit of antique-inspired charm, will help you incorporate these styles without giving up your personal style.
Many elements that make these styles are often found in vintage or secondhand shops. This makes infusing your home with these cozy, classic aesthetics easy and affordable.
Modern Cottagecore

Cotttagecore has been popular for a couple of years now. The new updated version for 2025 is Modern Cottagecore.
What The Experts Say
Modern Cottagecore takes the charm and collected aesthetic of last year’s Cottagecore styling and incorporates a modern, tailored look. Foundational furnishings also pivot from a colorful palette to warm, neutral foundation furnishing with rich accent colors. This style includes bespoke items, higher-end vintage finds, and both vintage and modern lighting.
My Two Cents
Modern Cottagecore is an up-and-coming style and should be very big by the end of the year. Modern Cottagecore is akin to what Farmhouse 2.0 is to Farmhouse style. Its beautiful aesthetic is more grown up and less fanciful. Instead of looking like you were living 100 years ago, it is up-to-date and just as romantic!
I adore this style for so many reasons. First, it’s so warm, and elements of Modern Cottagecore can be effortlessly slipped into almost any decor. Also, it seems much more curated than Cottagecore, so it’s not busy or overdecorated. And it lives in the real world. Not that I’m not game for a bit of fantasy, but when it comes to decorating, I like an intentional, curated look.
Casually Comfortable Furnishings
Casually Comfortable Furnishings is a cousin to last year’s hot trend, Quiet Luxury. Casually Comfortable Furnishing embraces the beauty of classic design and the ease of comfortable living.
What The Experts Say
This trend prioritizes furniture and decor that feel relaxed, approachable, and effortlessly stylish. This style does not compromise comfort for its upscale look. What makes this trend so appealing is its versatility. Casually Comfortable Furnishings strikes the perfect balance between style and practicality, making it easy to blend with a variety of decor styles, from modern to traditional.
My Two Cents
I love this style. It’s been around for so long and has blended with many styles over the years. But it’s gained such a following that it is trending in a new way. Who wouldn’t want furnishings that are casual and comfortable! This year’s popular style has taken on an upscale look. I love it best when interpreted in beautiful neutral fabrics with rich-looking curated accents.
Pattern Drenching
Layering pattern upon pattern and layering on even more pattern in a room.
What The Experts Say
Pattern drenching is just that: literally filling or drenching a space with pattern. Either the same pattern is done on many surfaces, like the same wallpaper, headboard, and pillows on a bed, or different patterns layered in a room that don’t necessarily all work together in traditional ways. This look will be popular in 2025 and the next few years to come.
My Two Cents
Welcome back, 1990! Let’s say it together… what goes around comes around! Pattern drenching seems like a natural progression to what we have seen over the last five years. Wallpaper has been so popular I knew layering patterns in a room was not far off, although I did not know it would be called pattern drenching
If matching wallpaper, pillows, and curtains is a trend too far, you can add a variety of patterns using good Interior Design principles, like scale and balance and color theory, when choosing the perfect pillows or bedding.
I personally love this trend. It’s a very fresh approach to a bygone style. Although our home is neutral and calm, I adore pattern. You will see more patterns and colors in the Tanglewood House in 2025.
Rich Colors
Do you love color? Do you love color but don’t want to decorate with colors from a box of crayons. Then you are in for a treat in 2025. This year’s popular colors are far from the 8 colors in a crayon box or the popular muted colors of last year! They are richer and deeper.
What The Experts Say
Color takes center stage in 2025, with earthy, rich tones leading the charge. Imagine hues like terracotta, burgundy, mossy greens, and deep cinnamon becoming staples in home decor. These colors exude warmth, luxury, and a connection to nature, making them perfect for creating cozy and inviting spaces.
My Two Cents
I totally agree with the experts! I think the colors popular colors for 2025 are luxurious. This year marks a pivot toward more saturated, concentrated colors that add depth and character to a room. These hues are not only visually stunning but also incredibly versatile. Rich, earthy colors can be incorporated into almost any style and palette. This is the year I take the plunge into a bit more color. I love mossy green!
If you love neutrals like I do, these colors in small doses work beautifully with a light and warm color palette. Pantone’s color of the year is a warm chocolate called Mocha Mousse, a beautiful example of the warm, rich colors that will be popular in 2025.
Color Drenching

Color drenching is an interior design technique where a single color is used across multiple surfaces in a room, such as walls, trim, flooring, and even decor. It creates a bold, immersive look with rich, saturated hues that are very popular now.
What The Experts Say
Design experts like color drenching for its ability to look cohesive and sophisticated. This technique creates an immersive look using a single hue across multiple surfaces. Experts often highlight how color drenching can enhance the mood of a room, with deep tones adding warmth and intimacy, while lighter shades bring a calming and expansive effect.
My Two Cents
Color drenching has a very upscale look and is perfect for smaller rooms like study rooms or powder rooms when done in darker shades. Unless you can commit to a very uncluttered look and tight color palette, I think it might be hard to pull off well.
